Nilotiqa 🧡

One of the babies (brands) under my professional care 😎

This brand is one of my faves (even though parents cant say they have a fav child lol can't help it 😅). Nilotiqa was founded by Thokozile Mangwiro, who had a life-long, un-answered frustration: She could not find a range of organic hair care products to maintain her natural hair. This led her down the path to create a brand women would fall in love with.

The brand has birthed a FANTASTIC range called the Shea & Coco that currently has a total of 17 products available at Click, Dis-chem, Pick n' Pay, Spar, Checkers as well as Takealot...

The Shea & Coco Collection is specifically formulated for dry & brittle hair. The range was designed with the combinative power of Shea Butter & Coconut Oil to deeply nourish, care for & replenish moisture back into your hair. Our luxurious formulae allows long lasting moisture, without the heaviness.

With that being said, we discovered that Nilotiqa had/has HUGE potential to grow into bigger shoes and cater to a larger audience who are concerned with so much more than just treating their hair in its natural state. We started to ask ourselves questions "how can I continue caring for my natural hair even when I have protective styles such as braids, twist outs, flat twists etc.."
"How can I treat my hair in harsher seasons such as Winter? "
"How can my hair THRIVE during the change of seasons?"
"What products can help maintain and take care of my chemically treated/ relaxed my hair"
" How can I maintain my transitioning hair "

With extensive research and multiple internal and external consumer testing we came up with the answer. We have developed a new range of 4 products to add into the family that will save us girls in our protective styling era called Aloe & Avo  💃🥑

If you didn't know, Aloe has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe the scalp, and the vitamin content in both aloe and avocado will nourish your hair and with Nilotiqa, you already know the ingredients used are of a luxury standard and free from all the nasties AND at an affordable price. 😉

I really enjoyed this process, from:
- Idea generation.
- Concept development and testing.
- Marketing strategy and business analysis.
- Product development.
- Testing.
- Product launch

I must be honest, working with the creative team to come up with the call outs on the labels and ultimately how it would look on shelf so our NilotiQueens can feel one with the packaging has been liberating!! Nothing beats the feeling of seeing something from start to finish, but being a part of it too makes it all the more fulfilling! 🙆‍♀️

So much is brewing for this baby and I cannot wait to see what more can come from it.

As I put my developer cap on. Watch the space!!
